Irene H. Finn, 77, of Blair, died Saturday, Dec. 8, 2007, at Clarkson Hospital in Omaha.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, at First United Methodist Church in Blair. A time of remembrance is slated for 6 to 8 pm. Wednesday, Dec. 12, at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home.

Irene Helen Gordon was born Sept. 28, 1930, in Chicago, Ill., to Sam and Minnie (Tilch) Gordon.

On Sept. 17, 1949, she married Keith E. Finn in Chicago.

Mrs. Finn retired in 1997 after 30 years of nursing at Clarkson Hospital. During that time, she received a degree in nursing in 1982 from the College of St. Mary in Omaha so that she could better attend to her patients.

Her avocation throughout her life was the game of bridge. Mrs. Finn was responsible for starting many bridge gatherings in the Blair area, and taught the art of the game to many of her old and new friends. She was also very active in the Unit 241 Duplicate Bridge League in Omaha.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Blair, and a former member of the Congregational Church in Blair; and the Drexel Park Presbyterian Church in Chicago.

She is survived by her children, Gary, of Omaha; Scott, of Blair; Gayle and Robert Vittitoe of Flowermound, Texas; and Dan and Deb of Norfolk; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren, all of whom were her greatest joys in her retirement years; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1976; brothers, Bill, Sam ad Jack; and a sister, June.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Jude Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Finn—Irene Helen, age 77, of Blair, NE. Irene Helen Finn was born on September 28, 1930 in Chicago, Illinois, to Sam and Minnie (Tilch) Gordon. On September 17, 1949 she married Keith E. Finn in Chicago. She retired in 1997 after 30 years of nursing from Clarkson Hospital during which time she received a degree in nursing from College of St. Mary’s (1982) so she could better attend to her patients. Her avocation throughout her life was the game of bridge having started many gatherings in the Blair area and teaching the art of the game to many of her old and new friends. Irene is survived by her loving children: Gary, Omaha, NE, Scott, Blair, NE, Gayle, Mrs. Robert Vittitoe, Flower Mound, TX, Dan and wife Deb, Norfolk, NE, 10 grandchildren, 2 great-granddaughters, all of whom were her greatest joys in her retirement years. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Keith in 1976, brothers, Bill, Sam, Jack and her sister June. On December 8, 2007, Irene joined her spiritual family at Clarkson Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska.
