Gordon L. Larson, age 85 of Kennard, passed away Nov. 21 at the Fremont Medical Center. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 2, at the Kennard Cemetery.

Gordon was born in Edgar on May 17, 1932, the son of Carl and Beda (Roos) Larson. He grew up around Edgar and worked on the farm with his father. On March 18, 1950, he was united in marriage to Roberta Minor in Hastings. The couple made their permanent home in Kennard and resided there for 54 years. Gordon was a heavy equipment operator and helped construct many of the highways and interstates in Nebraska and Arkansas. Gordon loved going for a ride especially to DeSoto Bend for the movies and to count the wildlife.

He is survived by two daughters and two sons; daughters: Sheryl Smith of Yutan and Elayne Larson of Kennard; sons: Gordon Jr. (Bonnie) of Blair and Desmond (Tina) of Kennard; 14 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and 20 great-great-grandchildren; sister Doris Wilson of Grand Island; sister-in-law Sara Daly of Pasco, Wash.; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Roberta and eight brothers and sisters.
