Betty Veeder (Davis)

Betty Veeder formerly of Blair, passed away Sunday, Nov. 26 shortly after 11 a.m. at Premier Estates in Pawnee City at the age of 92 surrounded by family. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Nov. 30 at 2 p.m. at Campbell Aman Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Blair Cemetery.

Betty was born October 13, 1925 to Melvin and Ollie (Minor) Davis in Pawnee City. She graduated from Pawnee City High School in 1943. She began working at the RCA office until the family moved to Woodbine, Iowa in 1952. She began working at the family Cafe where years later she met Harry Veeder. Betty married Harry on 12/24/60 in John and Grace Harris's home in Pawnee City. They moved to Alda, Iowa. On 10/21/62 in Denison, Iowa they had a son Lenard (Lenny). They moved to Blair in 1969. Harry passed away in 1976 and Betty began working in Blair as an aide, librarian and at the Blair Bakery until she retired. Betty helped take care of her granddaughter Heather for many years. Her son and grandchildren were her pride and joy. Betty was preceded in death by her parents: Melvin and Ollie Davis, husband Harry Veeder, brothers: Clarence, Dean, Wayne and Elton, sisters: Berniece and Grace, brothers-in-law: Earl, John, and Lester, and sisters-in-law, Marie and Lucy.

Campbell Aman Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
