Mrs. Sarah Hopkins died at the hospital at the Soldier’s Home at Burket, Nebr., last Thursday, following several paralytic strokes. The body was brought here Friday and the funeral held at 2:30 Sunday afternoon at the Baptist Church, Rev. A. T. Smalley officiating. Sarah Waltenspiel was born in St. Louis, Mo., February 5th, 1850, so was past 76 years of age. Her parents died while she was a young girl and she removed to Council, Bluffs, Ia., with some near relatives. She was married to Miles Hopkins in Council Bluffs, Ia., in1868. Ten children were born to them, but three of whom are living, George, of Fremont; Mrs. D. O. Shrider, of Ogden, Utah; and Oscar, of this city. There are eight grandchildren. Also, a brother, Alex Waltenspiel, of Geyserville, Calif., survives her. She was a member of the Baptist Church and was known by everyone as a woman of fine Christian character and will be greatly missed by many friends. She had been a resident of Blair for over 42 years.

CARD OF THANKS: We wish in this way to express our sincere thanks and appreciation of the many kindnesses shown us during the long illness and after the death of our beloved mother. We want to especially thank those who sent the beautiful flowers in her memory and Rev. A. T. Smalley and the singers for their kindly services. All of which will long be held in pleasant memory. George Hopkins, Mrs. D. Shrider, and Oscar Hopkins.
