Norma Jean Frahm Schneemeyer, age 90, passed away December 16 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Community in Blair. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 AM at First Lutheran Church in Blair. Graveside services will follow in the Ft. Calhoun Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00PM at Campbell Aman Funeral Home in Blair.

Norma J. Schneemeyer was born January 16, 1927 on the family farm west of Fort Calhoun to Chris and Olga(Anderson) Frahm. She was the oldest of 4 children. Norma attended Wranch School and then attended and graduated from South Omaha High School. She worked at Northwestern Bell Telephone Company and in several hospitals, and Mutual of Omaha. On May 5, 1951 she married Harold Wm. Schneemeyer at Kountze Memorial in Omaha. The family lived on a farm in the Gary Owen district in Washington county for 24 years then moved to a farm just North of Ft. Calhoun High School for 11 years. After Harold’s death in 1985, Norma moved to Blair and worked at Huntel Telephone Company for 7 years before her retirement.

Norma was active in 4-H, the Order of the Eastern Star, the Greene Valley Extension Club, Gingham Gals Extension Club, held offices in the American Legion and VFW Awuillarys, the Past Matrons Club along with being a member of First Lutheran Church in Blair.

Norma is survived by her children; Russell (Constance) Schneemeyer, Katleen (Patrick) Inman and Connie (Joseph) Pilloud, grandchildren; Michelle (Aaron) Shaffer, Kristin Schneemeyer, Ryan Inman, Aaron (Marisa) Howell, great grandson Jackson Shaffer, sister Alice Penke, brother in law Phil Matzen, sister Betty (Lloyd) Fetter, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Harold, sister Myrna Matzen and brother in law Henry Penke.

Memorials may be directed to Good Shepherd Lutheran Community.
