Dr. Keith E. Finn Died Suddenly Late Monday

Dr. Keith E. Finn, Blair optometrist for many years, died suddenly Monday evening at the Blair Hospital following a heart attack. He had been active and in apparent good health throughout the day.

The Blair Rescue Squad responded to a call to his home about 11:00 p.m. and he was rushed to the Blair Hospital for treatment.

A Service of Remembrance for Dr. Keith Ellis Finn will be conducted at The Congregational Church of Blair on Thursday, June 17 at 10:00 a.m. Keith Finn was born January 12, 1927, and died June 14, 1976, at the age of 49. His parents were William Selby Finn and Newell Manwaring.

He married Irene Gordon on September 17, 1949, and is survived by her as well as his children:

Dr. Gary Dennis Finn of Blair, William Scott Finn of Crete, Neb., Gayle Diane Finn and Danie Gordon Finn of Blair, as well as by two brothers, Leighton Finn of Chicago, Ill., and Duane Finn of Sacramento, Cal.

Dr. Finn served in the Naval Air Corps as a Radioman during World War II. He has been a doctor of Optometry all his life and his son, Gary is now associated with his practice both here and in Omaha.

He was active in many community and state organizations. He was a faithful member of The Congregational Church and sang in the choir and served as Church Clerk, a Trustee Deacon and on the Church Council in past years. He was also a Sunday school teacher in the church.

He was a member of the American Optometric Association and the Nebraska Optometric Association and was a Past President of the Eastern Nebraska Optometric Association.

He was also a member of the Blair Masonic Lodge Washington Lodge No. 10 (a Past Grand Master); a member of the Lions Club for over 25 years, and of the Westside Lions Club of Omaha of which he was a Past President; Past Noble Grand of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, the American Legion; Rebekah Eastern Star; and since his special hobby was music, he was a member of the Blair Melody Men and now of the Pathfinder Chorus of Fremont, Nebraska; he was also a Past President of the PTA; a Cub Scout Master; a Charter Member of the Blair Community Theatre; and a Representative of Mid-American Council of Boy Scouts.

The family wishes that any memorials be directed to the memorial fund of the Congregational Church. The Rev. John Fritzmeier, pastor of the church and the Rev. Harold Schaible, a past minister of the church, will officiate at the services.
