Cora Yowell (Triplett)

Cora Triplett was born near Mondamin, Harrison, Co. Iowa, March 9,1868 and died at her home near Herman, Neb., September 18, 1926, at the age of 58 years, 6 months and 9 days. She moved with her parents from Iowa to Herman in May, 1880. She was married to George Otis Yowell, at Blair, February 25, 1890, and this young couple went to housekeeping on a farm one and a half miles southwest of Herman, from that place they moved to their present home where they had resided nearly 27 years. To this union six children were born, Floyd J. Yowell, who passed away at Gilette, Wyoming, November 30, 1918, Claude E. Yowell, of Gillette, Wyo., Gerald R. Yowell, Herman, Mrs. Lawrence Larson, Mrs. Wm. Christensen and Allen Otis Yowell, of Herman. She confessed her Lord and Savior at the young age of 16 years and was baptized by Rev. John Patrick here at Herman. Throughout her life she practiced the principles of Christianity, living an exemplary life. She was ever ready to lead a helping hand to anyone in need, was of a quiet retiring nature, yet doing her bit in bringing happiness to those around her. She had been poorly for some time but was not thought seriously ill so her death came as a great shock to all. She leaves to mourn two sisters, Mrs. Ross Parish, of Herman, Nebr., Mrs. Wilbur Pipher, Crawford, Nebr., two brothers, Raymond Triplett, Herman and Elzy Triplett, Jr., of Holbrook, Neb., also her father, Elzy Triplett, aged 82 years, also friends and neighbors numbered by the scores. Her mother passed away March 20, 1916 and four brothers preceded her in death. The funeral services, under the auspices of O. E. S., were held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 at the Baptist Church, Rev. T. S. Kestersen, of Red Oak, Ia., officiating. Music was furnished by Mrs. C. E. Johnson, Mrs. Floyd Loftis, C. R. Gray and Fred Robertson. Mrs. L.V. Ackerman at the piano.
