Word was received here by relatives last Thursday of the death of Mrs. R. B, Connell, formerly Miss Dagmar Frandsen, who parents live west of Herman. Miss Frandsen was at one time a student in our schools but after her marriage to Mr. Connell they moved to Pryan, Nebr., where her death occurred at the time of the birth of a baby boy, which with the husband, survive her. She was laid to rest in the cemetery in Pryan. She was loved and respected by many friends here who extend sympathy to all the bereaved ones in their hour of sorrow. Her parents left for Pryne immediately upon the receipt of the message.

Dagmar Margaret “Mamie” Connell (Fransen-Christiansen)

The obituary of the late Mrs. R.D. Connell, of Tyron, Nebr., formerly Miss Dagmar Fransen, of Herman, has just been received and will be given below: Dagmar Margaret Fransen, was born January 28, 1904 at Kennard, Nebraska. She with her parents moved near Herman later and she was baptized in the Danish Lutheran Church near Herman also in 1904. She passed away at Tryon, Nebraska, January 27, 1925, making her age 21 years, 11 months and 29 days. At the age of eight years she entered and had completed the eight grade at the age of thirteen years. Later she attended college at Kearney, Neb. In the year 1923 she went to Tyron, Neb., to assist her brother with his work and was united in marriage to Bernard Connell in 1925. They went to keeping house on a farm near Stapleton, Nebr., where she lived until the time of her death. Beside her husband and infant son, Hartward Dale, she leaves to mourn her loss, Mr. and Mrs. F. F. Christiansen, of Herman, five sisters, Mrs. Hans Hansen, Mrs. Charles Chamberlain, and Miss Clea Fransen all of Herman, Mrs. George Hansen, of Tekamah, Nebr., and Mrs. Wm. Embree, of Sutherland, Nebr., also three brothers, Francis and Clarence, of Herman and Fred Fransen, of Chandler, Nebr., besides a host of other relatives. Mrs. Connell was at one time a student in the Herman public schools. She was loved by all who knew her for she cultivated a happy disposition and by her quiet, modest ways won many friends in and around Herman who extend their sympathy to these bereaved ones in their hours of sorrow.
