#1 Randy J. Smith, 36, of Blair, died Saturday, July 10, 2010, as a result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident in rural Washington County.

Randy James Smith was born Jan. 21, 1974, in Blair to Michael J. and Kathy A. (Hansen) Smith. He attended Blair Community Schools and graduated from Blair High School in 1992.

He worked at Concrete Equipment Company in Blair for 14 years, as well as owned his own business, Smith Mobilweld.

He enjoyed the rodeo as a young adult and rode saddle broncs. He possessed a passion for riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle whenever he could find time in his busy schedule. A devoted father, he spent much time camping, fishing and hunting with his two children.

Additionally, his love for his farming drove him to take over the cattle operation on the family farm near Herman.

Never running from a challenge and desiring a stable life for his children, he subcontracted and oversaw the construction of his own home from start to finish.

He is survived by his two children, Dillon M. Smth and Taylor E. Smith, of Blair; mother, Kathy Smith of Herman; paternal grandparents, Frank and Lorraine Smith of Herman; mother of his children, Roxanne Smith of Blair; sister, Pam Coppock, and a nephew, both of Blair.

He was preceded in death by his father, Michael.
