Petrina Jensen (Larsen)

Mrs. Patrina Jensen died at the Blair Hospital at 11 0’clock last Wednesday, October 6th, aged 85 years and 10 months, following an illness of five months. She had been at the hospital since the 20th of last May and was given every care and attention human hands could give. The funeral was held Saturday afternoon, Rev. C. B. Larsen officiating. Burial was in the Orum Cemetery by the side of her late husband, Rasmus Jensen, who death occurred 23 years ago. Mrs. Jensen was born in Denmark and was married there to Rasmus Jensen, May 12th, 1862. They came to this country in 1884 and settled on a farm out in the Orum neighborhood. After the death of her husband she lived with her only daughter, Mrs. Mads Madsen, for some time, coming to Blair 14 years ago, where she has since made her home. Besides her daughter and husband she leaves nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Six of her grandsons served as the pallbearers at the funeral service. Mrs. Jensen had two sisters, one of whom are dead but she didn’t know whether the other the other one was still living or not. She was baptized and lived a faithful and consistent Christian life that will long be remembered not only by her relatives but by her many friends.
