Friends here received word on Friday evening of the death of A. B. Batson. 80 years old, who died suddenly of hear trouble on Friday afternoon, while chopping down a tree in the yard of his home in Malcolm. Mr. Batson was originally a resident of Michigan, coming from there to Arlington where he and his family lived for more than twenty years. He was post master for a number of years and also ran one of the elevators here. The family moved to Lancaster County twenty-two years ago. For more than fifty years Mr. Batson was an active mason and belonged to Lincoln Lodge No. 29, A. F. and A. M. Besides his wife he is survived by one son, S. R. Batson of Lincoln and two daughters, Mrs. J. C. Huff of Wisner and Mrs. A. R. Miller of Phoenix, Arizona. Funeral services were held at the home at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday and interment was made in Lincoln. A number of friends from Arlington attended the funeral services.
