Henry Eugene Miller Jr., age 62, of Blair passed away Jan. 5 at Immanuel Hospital in Omaha.

Henry was born on Feb. 13, 1955 in Omaha, the son of Henry Sr. and Francis Miller. He was a lifelong resident of Blair and a graduate of Blair High School.

In 1973 he joined the United States Army and was stationed in Friedberg, Germany. On Oct. 23, 1976 he was united in marriage to Beate Marek in Bad-Homburg, Germany. Henry continued to serve in Germany until his honorable discharge in 1977. After his discharge the family moved to Blair and made it their permanent home. Henry began working at DeSoto Engineering as an apprentice and later for Good Shepherd Lutheran Community as a maintenance supervisor for 15 years. Henry returned to school and earned his HVAC license and worked for Getzschman's and then later for ENCORE. His las job was with Memorial Community Hospital in Blair as a member of the maintenance team.

Henry was a member of St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church, the Blair American Legion and the Blair VFW.

Henry is survived by his wife Beate Miller of Blair, sons; Benjamin (Lori) Miller of Blair, Henry (Jenny) Miller of Lincoln, grandchildren; Xander, Carter, Leo, Ruby and Dexter, sisters Julie Luikens and Patty (Dan) Burdess, brother in laws; Heinz-Georg (Marlis) Marek and Bernhard (Zenap) Marek and sister in law Petra (Andreas) Rebel.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother in law Peter Marek. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday Jan. 10 at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church in Blair at 10:00 a.m. Graveside services will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Blair. Visitation will be held Jan. 9 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a Vigil at 7:00 p.m. at Campbell Aman Funeral Home in Blair. #2-Published in the Omaha World Herald January 9, 2018
