Mrs. Mary Hjeresen died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Laurine Jespersen, who lives near Herman, last Friday of complication following an illness of about two weeks. The funeral was held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church at Orum on Sunday, Rev. P. J. Reinertson officiating. Burial was in the Orum Cemetery by the side of her husband, whose death occurred February 14, 1906. Mary Larsen was born in Norup, Denmark, August 6th, 1853, so was pass 72 years of age. She came to this country in 1873 with her parents and located in the Orum neighborhood. She was united in marriage to Lars Hjeresen October 31st, 1883 and they made their home near Orum until his death. Three children were born to them, two sons dying in infancy. She is survived by one daughter, three granddaughters, also two brothers, J. C. Larsen, or Orum, and M. P. Larsen of Kennard, besides many relatives and friends who will greatly miss her.
