Edwin H. Fisher, son of Mr. And Mrs. Homer Fisher, passed away at the Blair Hospital June 23rd, 1914, at 11 o’clock a.m., with tuberculosis of the lungs, the result of a grippe contracted in February last. He was born Nov. 9th, 1876, and has lived in Blair almost 21 years. He learned the printer’s trade in Blair, serving his apprenticeship with Maynard & Hamilton on the Blair Courier. He worked at his trade here in Blair almost eight years, going to Omaha in 1896, to fill a position with the Western Newspaper Union. From Omaha, he went to Chicago where he was employed, working up to within a few weeks of his death. His letters to his mother were always cheerful and she had no idea of his condition until his breakdown when a friend wrote that her son had been taken to the detention hospital with tuberculosis. That was the first intimation she had of her son’s true condition, and she immediately arranged with Chris Schmidt to go to Chicago and bring him home, which he did about two weeks ago. We can scarcely imagine a mother’s feelings at receiving such heart crushing news. The funeral will be held from the home at 3:30 p.m. tomorrow, Thursday, June 25th, Rev. Marsh conducting the services. Burial will be in Blair Cemetery.
