John McCracken, formerly a resident of Kennard, passed away at his home at New Castle, Nebr., last Friday morning and the body was brought to Blair on the afternoon of the same day.

Deceased was born in Virginia, January 4, 1879 and in his early childhood came with his parents to Kennard where he grew to manhood. He married to Camilla Pedersen of Kennard on November 20, 1902 and to them ten children were born, nine of whom are still living.

During most of their married life they resided in Laurel, Nebr., with the exception of three years which was spent in South Dakota. Only recently they moved to New Castle where they lived at the time of his death.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Camilla McCracken, five daughters, Mrs. Roger Bird, Iola, Marion, Dorothy and Gail; four sons, Roy, Russell, Donald and Kenneth; three sisters, Mrs. Walter Nelson of Omaha, Mrs. Henry Tietsort of Walthill, and Mrs. Sarah Hall of Wayne; four brother, William of Fremont, Thomas and Anderson of Omaha, and Robert of Midland, South Dakota.

The funeral services were held at the M. E. Church in Blair at 2 p.m. with Rev. Bader officiating and interment was made in the Kennard Cemetery.
