Mrs. A. Hester passed away at the University Hospital in Omaha at 4:30 this morning from tuberculosis. She had been at the hospital for four weeks receiving the best care possible. Since the death of Mr. Hester, she had been making her home with her mother, Mrs. Mary Hiatt, who lives on east State Street, this city. J. E. Campbell brought the body directly to Blair for preparation and the funeral service will be held at the Christian Church at 2 o’clock Friday afternoon. She was born at Grinnell, Ia., May 21, 1865, so was past 59 years of age. She was first married to Ed Smith and while married to him they adopted a daughter, Ethel Smith, now of Omaha. Some years after Mr. Smith’s death she married Alfred Hester, at Deadwood, S. D. who passed away a little over a year ago. She leaves an only sister.
