Elaine Knoell

Elaine Knoell, age 86, of Fremont, NE formerly Nickerson, NE went to be with Jesus Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at The Pathfinder House in Fremont. Elaine was born June 4, 1931 in Fremont, NE to Rex and Amber (Henry) Ogard.

She grew up in Fremont and then lived at Chico, CA for several years. Elaine married Everrett Knoell on November 15, 1947 in Fremont. He died on May 23, 2008.

She returned to Fremont and in 1950 moved to a farm south of Nickerson. In 1957, she moved into Nickerson. She was Postmaster at Nickerson for many years. During that time, she enjoyed her position and the traveling that was involved as editor of the Postmaster newsletter. In the fall of 2008, she moved back to Fremont.

She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church at Fontanelle, NE. Her faith, children, and grandchildren were her life.

Elaine is survived by sons, David (Joyce) Knoell of Hooper, NE and Danny (Shirley) Knoell of Crete, NE; daughters, Jackie (Mike) Ladd of Nickerson and Sherry Slagle of Fremont; 11 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Vicki Wilcox; and son-in-law, Gale Slagle.

Funeral Service will be 10:30 AM, Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Salem Lutheran Church at Fontanelle. The Rev. Allison Siburg will officiate.   Visitation on Friday from 4 PM to 8 PM with the family receiving friends on Friday from 5 PM to 7 PM at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Burial will be at the Fontanelle Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to the family for designation yet to be determined.
