Kimberly J. Nelsen, 46, of Blair, died Saturday, July 10, 2010, as the result of injuries she sustained in a motorcycle accident in rural Washington County.

Services were Thursday, July 15, at Country Bible Church in Blair. Interment was in the Tekamah Cemetery.

Kimberly June Knight was born Oct. 14, 1963, in Omaha to Oren Jr. and Alice (Miller) Knight. The family moved to Tekamah when she was 5 years of age. She graduated from Tekamah-Herman High School in 1982.

In 1982, she married Jim Nelsen and they moved to Montana, where they raised their two boys: Richard and Jerrad. She worked as a purchasing agent for a hospital and also worked with disabled adults and loved being with them.

When she returned to Nebraska, she pursued a career in insurance. She was employed in insurance sales and underwriting at Connealy Insurance in Tekamah.

She has been active in several churches and was a member of the Herman Community Church.

She loved the mountains, hiking, riding motorcycles, cross country skiing and always had a beautiful flower garden. She loved her family and her two grandsons meant the world to her.

Kim Nelsen was a very kind, generous and caring person. She had a contagious laugh and smile that made everyone around her laugh and smile with her. She was always willing to lend a hand to others. Anyone, whose life was touched by her, felt the love she had for them.

Survivors include her sons, Richard Nelsen of Blair and Jerrad Nelsen of Tekamah; two grandsons; her mother, Alice Knight of Tekamah; sister, Tammie Ferris of Omaha; brothers, Greg (Susan) Knight of Papillion, Chuck Knight of Omaha.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents and father, Oren Jr.

Pelan Funeral Home in Tekamah was in charge of arrangements.

Kimberly June Nelsen, 46, of Blair, formerly of Tekamah, died Saturday, July 10, 2010, as the result of injuries she sustained in a motorcycle accident in rural Washington County.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 15, at Country Bible Church in Blair. Interment will be in the Tekamah Cemetery.>p> Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 14, at Pelan Funeral Home in Tekamah, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.
