Walt Bonne, 72, of Aurora, died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2002, at Memorial Long Term Care.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 4, at the Higby-McQuiston Chapel in Aurora. Rev. Nora Leeds will officiate. interment will be in the Aurora Cemetery.

Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 3, at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary.

David Walt Bonne was born April 14, 1929, in David City to Edward Louis and Sarah Elizabeth (Jones) Bonne.

He grew up on a farm near David City, went to rural elementary school, and graduated from David City High School in 1947. After graduation, he helped on the family farm.

On Feb. 2, 1958, he married Reana Marie Powell in Reno, Nev. The couple had four children.

Mr. Bonne worked most of his life in the farming industry. He and his wife lived in the Fremont and Fontanelle area for 15 years. They moved to Aurora in 1976.

After semi-retiring, he worked part-time at the Hamilton County Yards, where he mowed. He always took pride in his work.

While growing up, Walt loved to ride motorcycles with his brothers.

He also loved hunting and fishing with his family members. He enjoyed cooking on the grill and spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Reana M. Bonne of Aurora, daughters, Diane E. McGovern of Richmond, Va., Debra Ann Ford of San Antonio, Texas, and Donna M. Sabata of Aurora, son David Gobar of Wisner, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, and four brothers.
