Mrs. Melvina Keegan Tremaine was born January 6, 1839 in Ohio and died at the home of her daughter Mrs. Margaret Bonine, last Saturday after a week's illness following a paralyzing stroke. The deceased came with her husband from Ohio to Iowa in 1869 and lived near the Missouri Valley until 1892 when the family moved to Blair. The Husband died in 1899. Eleven children were born to this union, eight of whom survive. Surviving are: E.B. Tremaine of Wisner, J.B. Tremaine of Omaha, Mrs. William Bonine of Blair, Mrs. W.H. Smith of Freemont, S.M. Tremaine of Washington, and Frank and W.J. Tremaine both of Blair.
