Carmine William Pane, age 78, died Jan. 28 in Omaha.

He was preceded in death by his parents John and Thelma Pane. He is survived by his wife, Judy Pane of Fort Calhoun, sons; John (Tina) Pane, Omaha, Mike (Lori) Pane of Fort Calhoun; daughters, Jana (Paul) Wear of Omaha, Jami (Matt) Hanford of Fort Calhoun; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Carmine was a member of Local Plumbers Union #16 for 49 years, Santa Lucia Festival Committee for 40 years and Solomon Lodge #10 A.F. & A.M for 35 years.

Visitation will be held 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 1, with prayer service and masonic service at 7 p.m., all at Fort Calhoun Presbyterian Church. Vigil service will be 9:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 2, at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church, Fort Calhoun. Funeral mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 2, also at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church.

Memorials suggested to Fort Calhoun Fire and Rescue or the Josie Harper Hospice House.

Carmine William Pane

Carmine was born May 30, 1939. He married Judy Gallagher September 5, 1959. Carmine died at The Josie Harper Hospice Hose on January 28, 2018.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Pane, his sons and daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren:

John and Tina Pane and children: Jenna and Jake Prchal (Kiptyn and Kenzli); Nick Pane and Carson Weaver; Neil and Ronni Pane (Stetson)

Mike and Lori Pane and children: Melissa and Brian Lasher (Levi and Gracie); Mike and Katie Pane; Jennifer Pane and Darren Summer (Faye and Nolan); Sammy Jo Pane and Kyle Thompson (Riley and Danielle); Lily Pane

Jana and Paul Wear and children: Skylar Wear, Jordan Wear, Nathan Wear

Jami and Matt Hanford and children: Tucker Hanford, Olive Hanford

As well as many friends and neighbors.

Carmine’s passion and first priority was always his wife, his kids and grandkids. Any additional time was spent fishing, golfing and ranching. Carmine was well known in the community for over 47 years. He left his mark successfully coaching football, baseball, wrestling and softball, earning the love and respect from everyone that played for him. His special boisterous but yet loving sense of humor will be missed. Please know that Carmine was so proud to be part of this community and call himself a pioneer.
