Norma M. Menking, age 88, of Fremont, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 6 at Dunklau Gardens in Fremont.

She was born March 27, 1929 in Missouri Valley, Iowa to William and Opal (McManomie) Thomas. She graduated Arlington High School in 1947. Norma married Paul Menking on Jan. 29, 1950 in Arlington. She was employed at First National Bank and American National Bank in Fremont, and Arlington State Bank. She retired in 1984. Norma was a member of Arlington Community Church.

She is survived by her sons, Bill (Linda) Menking and Ed Menking all of Arlington; daughter Kathy (Dan) Molle of Fremont; sister, Judy (Foye) Manuel of Lowell, Ohio; sisters-in-law, Carmela Thomas of Northridge, Calif. and Marion Thomas of Alamo, Texas; 5 grandchildren, Amy and Jenna Molle, Sarah and Sam Menking and Paul Menking. Memorial visitation on Thursday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home. Burial at the Arlington Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the Paul and Norma Menking Scholarship through the Arlington Education Foundation.
