Ingrid J. (Beck) Bondo, 94, died Dec. 5, 1998, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Blair.

Funeral services were Sunday, Dec. 6, at 7 p.m. at Campbell Aman Funeral Chapel. Rev. Kenneth Jensen officiated the service and also Dec. 7, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Boomer Township, in Neola, Iowa, with Rev. Walter Behrens and Rev. Kenneth Jensen officiating. Burial was in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in Neola, Iowa.

Pallbearers were Eric Bondo, Mark Bondo, Joshua Ford, Irvin Larsen, Donald Magnussen, Justin Meyers, James T. Olsen and Dan Shavlik. Honorary pallbearers were Herbert Hjortsvang, Arthur Larsen, Vernon Magnussen, Richard Nelson and Robert Sykes.

Ingrid Beck was born Sept. 1, 1904, to Rev. Theodore P. and Lena Toxvaerd Beck in West Branch, Iowa. She was the eldest of four children. She attended grade schools in Brooklyn, N.Y. and Hutchinson, Minn. She completed three years of high school in Cordova, Neb., and her fourth year at Dana Academy in Blair in 1922.

She graduated in the first graduation class of Immanuel Hospital School of Nursing in 1925. She graduated in 1928 from Ravenswood Hospital's School of Anesthesia in Chicago, Ill. She was an RN supervisor and Nurse Anesthetist for eight years. She was Secretary of the Nebraska State Nurses Association from 1927 to 1929.

She married Elmer Bondo on March 25, 1930, in her parents' home in Trufant, Mich. They lived on a farm near Underwood, Iowa.

She and her husband, Elmer, moved to Blair upon retirement in 1969. She was one of the first residents to move into an apartment at Johanson Manor in September 1988. She moved to Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in July 1997.

Mrs. Bondo was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Boomer Township, Neola, Iowa.

Survivors are two daughters and sons-in-law, Elaine and Harley Rennerfeldt of Blair, and Phyllis and Milo Shavlik of North Platte; one son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Gail Bondo of South Bend, Ind.

She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Claire Ford of Blair, Erica Zabor of Norfolk, Va., Dan Shavlik and Rebecca Shavlik of North Platte, Deborah Shavlik and Andrea Shavlik of Denver, Colo., Eric, Kristen and Mark Bondo of South Bend, Ind.; six great-grandchildren, Justin Meyers, Joshua Ford, Alycia Ford, Monique Shavlik, Matthew Shavlik and Mason Olson; one sister Anna Olsen of Eugene, Ore., and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Lena Beck, her husband, Elmer Bondo, her sister, Dagny Lyon and brother Emmanuel Beck.

Memorials may be given to Bondo Scholarship Fund, Dana College, Good Shepherd Lutheran Home or St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Neola, Iowa.
