Otto J. Boock, 85, of Fremont, died Sunday, Oct. 6, 2002, at the Fremont Area Medical Center.

Funeral services were 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10, at First Lutheran Church in Blair. Interment was in the Blair Cemetery.

Otto J. Boock was born April 20, 1917, in Kennard to George and Anna (Harder) Boock. He attended school in Oklahoma and Blair.

He entered the Army in September of 1941 and served until January 1943.

On Feb. 3, 1944, he married Olga Hansen in Omaha. They lived in the Blair area until moving to Fremont in 1974.

Mr. Boock farmed in Washington County, then worked for Kelly Ryan Manufacturing, Hancock Farm Equipment, for Leonard and Dale Lauritsen, and was a Star Route mail carrier based out of the Fremont area post office.

He was a member of the Fremont Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 200, the Fremont Camping Club, and was a past member of the Blair American Legion.

He is survived by his wife, Olga, of Fremont; daughter, Janelle Crone of Kennard; daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Dale Olson of Blair; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Anna Sparks of Blair; sisters-in-law, Lola Rahlfs of Blair and Caroline Boock of Kennard.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Troy Charles Crone; two brothers, George and Henry Boock; three sisters, Eva Wakefield, Christina Wilder, and Mae Boock.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
