Kenneth C. Booze, Sr., 74, died Saturday, April 26, 1997 at his home in Cedar Bluffs, Nebr.

Services are 2 p.m. Wednesday at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Rev. Eddie Masters will officiate. Military graveside services will be conducted by the Fremont Honor Guard of the Veteran of Foreign Wars Post No. 854 and American Legion Post No. 20 at Ridge Cemetery in Fremont.

Booze was born May 21, 1922 at Frankfort, S.D. He moved to Fremont at the age of 13. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, in the Asiatic Pacific, from May 24, 1944 to Nov. 8, 1945. He received the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. After his discharge, he returned to Fremont and drove truck for Herman Trucking. In 1952, he became a Fremont Police officer and in 1954 moved to Arlington where he was police officer for several years. He also was a police officer in Fort Calhoun for a time. He retired in 1985 and worked part-time in Blair as a sheriff's deputy and correction officer. He moved to Cedar Bluffs three years ago. On Sept. 22, 1941, he married Elsie L. Krause at Ponca, Nebr.

He was a member of the Police Officers Association of Nebraska.

Survivors are his wife, Elsie; sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald and Diana Booze of Prague; Kenneth, Jr. and Nancy Booze of Valley; Roger and Carol Booze of Fremont and Ty and Janet Booze of Cedar Bluffs; a daughter and son-in-law, Glenyce and Marvin Opfer of Omaha; his mother, Jessie Mirr of North Bend; brothers, Alvin of Prague, Lawrence of Fremont and Willis of Jeffers, Minn.; a sister, Betty D. Johnson of Fremont; a step-brother, Jerry Mirr of Tucson, Ariz.; step-sisters, Eldora (Mrs. George) Mortensen of Indiana, Delores Berryman of California; Betty (Mrs. Clyde) Phillippe of Fremont, Nancy Reed of Omaha and Carolyn Lynch of Colorado; 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Carl J. Booze; a brother, Virgil Booze; a daughter, Paulette Booze; a step-brother, Eugene Mirr and a granddaughter, Angela Booze.
