William Kiefer passed away very suddenly of heart trouble at his home on East Lincoln Street yesterday morning at about 8 o’clock. He had summer flu some time ago and had never recovered from it properly, and his heart had bothered him some, though it wasn’t considered dangerous. The funeral service will be held at the house at 10 o’clock tomorrow, Thursday morning, Father Beyersdorfer officiating. Burial in the Blair Cemetery. Mr. Kiefer was born in Mascoutah, Ill., Sept. 22nd, 1867, so was almost 60 years of age at the time of his death. He came to this state, when a young man and on July 4th, 1893, he was united in marriage to Miss Lucy Wachter, of Shiloh, Ill., here at Blair. Six children were born to them, all living. Margaret, Mrs. Margaret Kelly, of Omaha, Loneta, Mrs. Julius Geginni, of Omaha, Alfred, of Gary, Ind., Dorothy, of Omaha, Gerald, of Chicago and Donald lived at home. He is survived by his wife and aged father, Henry Kiefer, of West Point, Neb. Also, three brothers, Louis, of Tekamah, Albert and Frank, of this city. All will be present for the funeral service tomorrow. He had been a member of the Modern Woodman Lodge for many years, carrying a benefit policy for $1,000. The pallbearers will be members of the order. Mr. Kiefer was a good citizen, hardworking, honest and a valued friend. The bereaved family have the sincere sympathy of his many friends.

William Keifer died at his home in this city on Tuesday morning following a very short illness of heart trouble. The deceased was born in Mascoutah, Illinois in Sept., 1867, and came to Blair in 1890 since which time he has made his home in this city. He had been engaged in various industryies since his residence here. He leaves to mourn his loss, besides his bereaved wife, three sons, Alfred and Gerald, of Chicago, Ill., and Donald of this city, and two daughters, Margaret and Dorothy, both of whom are living in Omaha. Funeral services will be held from the home this Thursday morning at 10:00 o’clock, the Rev. Father C. A. Beyersdorfer officiating. Burial will be in Blair cemetery.
