Former Blair Man Dies

Word recently reached Blair from William Wulff, of Seattle, Wash., that George Clough of that city had passed away. Old time Blair friends will remember George Clough having come here in an early day with his parents from Massachusetts. While yet a small lad his father passed away and the family moved to the New England neighborhood where they owned and operated a farm.

During the Klondike gold rush of some thirty-five or more years ago Mr. Clough caught the fever and went to Klondike giving up a lucrative position with the railroad to go. He never returned to Blair to make it a home but worked up and down the west coast, being employed as engineer in several lumber mills and holding several positions of responsibility and trust. For a time he made his headquarters in Vancouver but at the time of his death was located in Seattle.

He was of a versatile nature, well informed and had a pleasing manner and although he had a host of friends he never married. At his death he was around seventy years of age.
