Jim G. Nielsen, 71, of Blair, died Sunday, July 17, 2011, in Kearney.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, July 21, at Country Bible Church in Blair. Interment will be in the Blair Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at noon Wednesday, July 20, at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

James Gifford Nielsen was born Aug. 13, 1939, in Blair to Gifford and Marie (Sierk) Nielsen. He graduated from Fort Calhoun High School.

After graduation, he worked for the Union Pacific Railroad, and later owned and operated Nielsen Construction for 42 years.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Jackie and Don Grace, and son and daughter-in-law, Jay and Janette Nielsen, all of Blair; grandchildren, Ashley and Brian Brown, Daren Grace, and Jack, Cayla and Bo Nielsen, all of Blair; great-grandchildren, Brady, Alayna and Barrett Brown; sisters and brother-in-law, Marlene Hansen of Omaha, and Betty and Ron Mlejnek of Hastings.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Duane and Roger Nielsen.
