Marilyn Agnes Masters, age 80, of Blair, passed away Feb. 11, 2018 at the Gretna Community Living Center. She was born May 23, 1937 to Carl and Agnes (Blockhus) Stendel in West Union, Iowa. In 1977 Marilyn moved to Blair with her 5 children and married John Masters.

Marilyn loved hosting family dinners, especially Christmas, her favorite holiday. She was passionate about gardening and her favorite team, the Vikings, Nascar, and the Food Channel. She enjoyed holiday decorating, meals with her neighbors, and jigsaw puzzles. She was loved and will be missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her daughter, Deb Detjens. She is survived by her children, Jodi (Abe) Workman, Bob Cortez, Juli Cortez, and Robin (John) Otte, as well as her grandchildren, Carl Sprague, Angie (Workman) Albrecht, and Karli Workman, TJ Gomez, Nick, Katelyn, and Kelsey Cortez, Dillon and Amanda Otte, and five great-grandchildren.

The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff at Immanuel Hospital Oncology Department and all the staff at Gretna Community Living Center, especially Cari and Mallori for the wonderful care they provided for mom.

Prayer Service followed by food and fellowship will be held Saturday, February 24, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Living Hope Assembly of God Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family.
