Caroline E. Shaffer Boschult, 78, of Fremont, died Monday, Oct. 15, 2001, at Arbor Manor in Fremont.

Funeral services are 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19, at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont, with the Rev. Phil Tonzheimer officiating. Interment will be at Hooper Cemetery.

Visitation began Thursday, and continues Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Moser Memorial Chapel. Caroline E. Shaffer Boschult was born Dec. 21, 1922, in Hooper to Leroy and Cora (Bay) Shaffer. She grew up and lived most of her life in the Hooper and Fontanelle area. She was a graduate of Hooper High School and Midland College graduate.

She was an elementary school teacher for 43 years, and taught in Dodge County Country School, Fontanelle and Bellevue from 1980 to 1983, and Carter Lake, Iowa, from 1983 to 1987. She also taught at Blair, Fort Calhoun, and Council Bluffs Christian Academy. She moved to Fremont in 1987.

On Nov. 25, 1953, she was married to Duane P. Boschult in Fremont. The couple later divorced.

Mrs. Boschult was a member of the Fremont Alliance Church, was past president of Stanton Tower Tenant Organization, the Family Friends Group in Fremont, and was a member of the Nebraska and Fremont Retired Teachers Association.

She is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Lois and Darrell Honeywell of Fremont, brother- in-law, James Hawkins of Columbus, two sisters-in-law, Shirley Shaffer of Nebraska City and Rose Shaffer of Grand Island.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Twila Storjohn and Sylvia Hawkins, and two brother, James and Dale Shaffer.

Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association.

Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont is in charge of arrangements.
