Rolland “Rollie” James Metz was born January 21, 1942, to Willis and Edna (Daniels) Metz in Blair. He passed away February 20, 2018, at Tekamah Care and Rehabilitation Center in Tekamah, Nebraska, at the age of 76.>p> Rollie graduated from Blair High School. He worked at Chapman Plumbing and Heating for 27 years, worked as a maintenance supervisor at Crowell Home and was a reserve police officer with the Blair Police for many years.

Rollie enjoyed snowmobiling, playing pool and riding his Gold Wing with his wife, Ida. He loved spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ida; daughter, Betty Jo.

He is survived by his daughter, Sheryl Metz of Omaha, NE; brother, Norman (Sandy) Metz of Tekamah; granddaughters, Evelyn Sprick of Blair, Bailey Metz of Blair; step-children, Julie (Mike) Anderson of Tekamah, Rusty (Lisa) Nelson of Gretna, NE, Dan (Angie) Nelson of Fremont, NE; step-grandchildren, Jazmyn (Brenton) Zenor and Ben Anderson of Tekamah, Shayla Nelson of Denver, CO, Darik, Jaxon, Blade and Jade Nelson of Gretna; step-greatgrandchildren, Presley, Brayton and Paxton Zenor of Tekamah, Valerie Allison of Denver, CO.

A memorial service will be Saturday, March 3, 2018, 10:30 am, at First Baptist Church in Tekamah. There is no visitation. Burial will be at Blair Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the family for later designation.
