Betty F. Ringler, age 94, died Feb. 27 in Blair. Betty was a resident of Fort Calhoun for over 70 years and was one of the founding members of the Fort Calhoun American Legion Auxiliary Unit 348 District 8 in 1949.

Betty loved attending many of her grandchildren’s school activities. She was every kid's dream of a grandma.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne, daughter, Linda Halford, sister, Dorothy Schwarting, brother, Clifton Grady. She is survived by her son, David (Sharry) Ringler of Fort Calhoun, daughter, Marla (Dave) Romans, Fort Calhoun, son-in- law, Larry Halford, six grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held Thursday, March 1, at Sievers-Sprick Funeral Home. Service will be held Friday, March 2, at 10:30 a.m. at Fort Calhoun Presbyterian Church.

Memorials are suggested to Fort Calhoun American Legion Auxiliary Unit 348 or Fort Calhoun Fire and Rescue.
