Gwen (Lindholm) Christiansen, 94, of Saint Paul, Minn., died peacefully Feb. 24 surrounded by her family. Beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, she will be keenly missed.

Gwen was born January 19, 1924, in Audubon, Iowa, to Danish immigrant father Holger Lindholm and wife Minnie Andersen. She met C. Arthur Christiansen at Dana College in Blair and married him in 1947. Together they raised five children while also balancing the responsibilities of Art's role on Dana's faculty through the 1950s and 1960s, and later at Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa. The two enjoyed their retirement years in Saint Paul, where all their children settled.

Quick to laugh, care, love, and give, Gwen was an open-hearted person who did much to support her family, friends, church, and community. She is survived by four children, nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, a lively and large extended family, and dear sister Mary Ellen Fitch of Blair.

Memorials suggested to the Museum of Danish America, Elk Horn, Iowa.
