Sonny “Ikon” Wayne Hoffman, 28 years, of Arlington, died Wednesday, March 7 at Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.

Sonny was born June 14, 1989 in Des Moines, Iowa to Deane and Sheryl (Brommel) Hoffman. He attended school in Arlington and was a 2008 graduate of Arlington High School. He was self-employed in lawn service. He was especially proud of his new black mower that everyone called his “black Cadillac”. He was a member of the Christian religion and was faithful to God.

Sonny spent his entire life helping others, making others happy was his only concern. He was a very kind and giving individual. He enjoyed NASCAR, especially Jeff Gordon, The Huskers, The Raiders, and watching comedy movies.

He is survived by his parents, Deane and Sheryl; brothers, Marshal Hoffman of Arlington and Rusty Hoffman of Norfolk and his golden retriever companions, Tiny and Sissy. He was preceded in death by his uncle, Steve Brommel.

Funeral Service was March 12, at Arlington Community Church in Arlington and burial was at Arlington Cemetery in Arlington.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to the family for a memorial yet to be determined.
