Lorraine Alva Kuss Moseman, age 88, of Fremont Was called heavenward in Christ Jesus according to God’s plan Monday evening, March 12 at Nye Legacy, Fremont.

Lorraine was born April 7, 1929 in Winslow, Nebraska to Art and Hilda (Geisler) Kuss. She was raised in the Winslow/Hooper area and graduated from Hooper High School in 1946. After school she worked at Woolworth’s Five and Dime, and Reynold’s Insurance in Fremont. Lorraine married Clarence Moseman February 1, 1949 and lived with and farmed with Clarence north of Arlington until 1968, when they moved to Winslow, and then later to Fremont in 1985. Lorraine worked as a bookkeeper for the Farmers’ Union Coop in Nickerson, Nebraska. She was a hard-working farmer’s wife, mother, and Sunday School teacher for 18 years. Lorraine volunteered at Low Income Ministry and worked at a daycare. She also made quilts for Lutheran World Relief. She loved to square dance with Clarence. Lorraine was a former member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church north of Arlington, Immanuel Lutheran Church of Hooper (east of Winslow), and later Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Fremont.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband Clarence, after 66 years of marriage, and by her parents, and sister Diane Rinas.

Survivors include her children Sharlyn (Dave) Scheer, Arlington, Lynette (Gerald ‘Butch’) Oakes, Fremont, Byron (Noreen) Moseman, Cedar Rapids Neb., Kevin (Colleen) Moseman, Omaha 12 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren; brother Merlin (Shirley) Kuss, Fremont; brothers-in- law – Calvin (Marion) Moseman, Craig, NE, Duane (LaRae) Moseman, Hooper, Larry (Joyce) Rinas, Arlington, many cousins, nieces and nephew.

The funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday March 17 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. The committal (following the funeral lunch) will be in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery east of Winslow. Visitation at the Ludvigsen Mortuary, Fremont, will be Friday 2 to 8 p.m., with the family present 6 to 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Concordia Lutheran Seminary of St. Louis, and the Lutheran Hour.
