Amanda J. Currie

Mrs. Amanda Currie died out at the Soldiers Home at Burkett, Neb., last Sunday and the body was brought here for burial Monday. The funeral was held at the Baptist Church, Rev. C. M. Foreman officiating. Her son, Si Lewis, of Omaha, and Charles Lewis, of Cheyenne, Wyo., were here for the funeral. One daughter, Irene, lives in Washington. She was about 76 years of age.

Mrs. Amanda J. Currie, an aged citizen of Blair, died Saturday morning, October 30, at the soldiers’ Home at Grand Island where she had gone, planning to spend the winter there. Funeral services were held at Blair at the Baptist church last Monday at 3 p.m., Rev. Foreman officiating. Interment was made in the Blair cemetery beside her husband, John Currie who passed away several years ago.

The deceased was past eighty one years of age. Two sons, “Si” Lewis of Omaha and Chas. Lewis of Cheyenne, Wyo., were present at the funeral services.

Danish American Archives Vig files list her first marriage last name, Lewis; and have her maiden names Hollar.
