Former Blair Woman Dies

Mrs. Julia F. Cook, a resident of Blair about twenty-five years ago, died last Friday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C. O. Lobeck of Omaha at the advanced age of eighty-six.

Mrs. Cook was a Kentuckian by birth and came west with her husband after the close of the Civil War and located near California Junction, Ia., where they farmed until 1873 when they moved to Blair and conducted a general mercantile business on the site where Sas Bros. are now located. Mr. Cook died in 1895.

The older residents of Blair will remember that they lived in the Lena Russell home on Grant Street.

Mrs. Cook leaves one daughter and three sons, Wesley, of Omaha, Ed, of Beaver Dam, Wis., and Chas., of Spencer, Nebr., with whom she made her home before going to her daughters in Omaha.

Mrs. Cook was a sweet faced, kindly disposed woman who made many warm friends here many years ago and the sympathy of these old friends and neighbors goes out to the bereaved family at this time.

The funeral services were held Sunday morning at the residence of her daughter in Omaha and interment was made in the Blair Cemetery on the after of that day.
