Scott Castetter Died Monday-Native of Blair; Parents Settled Here in Early Blair Times

Scott Castetter, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Emanuel Castetter, died in Methodist Hospital Monday night.

Deceased was born in Blair and most of his life was spent in Blair. When he was a young man his father took a homestead in Gregory County, South Dakota, and while residing there, Scott worked for some time as a bookkeeper in a bank at Gregory.

Later the family moved back to Blair, which was around 1910, and he resided here until the parents both passed away.

Scott, although a hopeless cripple and invalid much of the time, was energetic and up to the past few years was always employed.

Of late years he was forced to give up all work and for several years made his home at the Blair Hospital. The last few months he has spent in the Florence Old People’s Home.

The body was brought to Blair by the Bendorf Funeral Home and funeral services with Rev. D. D. Kennedy officiating were held this Thursday morning at 10:30 o’clock. Interment was made in the Blair Cemetery.

At his death, Scott was sixty-one years and eleven month old.

~~~The Danish American Archives Vig Files record his death date as October, 4, 1946~~~
