Frank Petersen, well-known Blair man, passed away at the Clarkson Hospital early Wednesday morning, a victim of a lingering illness believed to have resulted from a stomach ailment a number of years ago. The deceased was born in Omaha, November 10, 1887 the son of the late Hans and Gertrude Petersen. The family, shortly after his birth, moved to the Ft. Calhoun vicinity and lived there a number of years. Following the death of his parents, Frank, who was then 9 years old, was adopted by Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hansen, of the Calhoun vicinity and he grew to manhood in the Hansen home.

In 1913 he was married to Lucinda K. Wortman and the young couple farmed for a time in Iowa but later returned to Washington County.

They moved to Blair in 1927 and after following various types of employment, Mr. Petersen began the operation of a service station in north Blair, which business he followed for 12 years. The Petersen’s had no children.

Surviving, beside his wife, are two sisters, Mrs. Antone Johnson, of Bakers Field, Calif. and Mrs. Fay McComb, of San Antonio, Texas.
