Darrell W. “Booty” Johnson was born November 23, 1923, in Oakland to Edgar and Elizabeth (Clary) Johnson. He passed away Sunday, April 1, 2018, at Oakland Heights at the age of 94.

On June 24, 1954, Darrell and Mava Sila were united in marriage in Oakland.

Darrell lived in Oakland most of his life, working for the city of Oakland for many years.

He enjoyed horses and mules, attending many trail rides, parades, rodeos and horse sales.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mava; son, Kim; son-in-law, Mike Sydow; brother, Merl; and sister, Vava Andresen.

Survivors include his children, Clare Bowen of Wisner, Leslie (Gary) Tierney of Uehling, Howard (Linda) Johnson of Lincoln, Deborah Sydow of Oakland, Connie Haeffner of Beemer, Sherman (Peggy) Johnson of Blair, Bryan (Lorie) Johnson of Oakland; daughter-in-law, Pam Johnson of Oxford, Wis.; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

CELEBRATION OF LIFE: Saturday, April 14, 2018, 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. at Oakland Veteran’s Building in Oakland.

BURIAL AT A LATER DATE: Pioneer Cemetery, rural Oakland
