Festus Rosenbalm, 88, Died Tuesday

Festus N. Rosenbalm, a resident of Blair and Washington County for many years, passed away Tuesday evening, August 31st at a Norfolk, Nebraska hospital. He had been a patient at the Blair Convalescent Home for some time prior to going to Norfolk. Mr. Rosenbalm was 88 years of age.

The deceased was born January 10, 1866 at Abington, Virginia and came to Nebraska in 1882. He had made Washington County his home since that time.

In 1890 he was married to Miss Anna Kelly, the wedding taking place in Blair, and to this union, four children were born, all of whom survive his passing. There are three sons, Hayes Rosenbalm; Floyd H. Rosenbalm of Los Angeles and Carl Rosenbalm, who is in the Army and stationed at Junction City, Kansas. A daughter, Mrs. Julia McManuss, resides at Fremont.

A brother, Mac Rosenbalm, of Blair, is also a survivor. There are four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 9:00 o’clock Saturday morning from St. Francis Borgia Church, with the Rev. Edward O’Donnell conducting the service. Rosary is to take place Friday evening, prior to the services at the Bendorf Funeral Home.
