DAISY BOWLES, 89, BURIED WEDNESDAY

Mrs. Daisy Bowles passed away November 20th at the Good Shepherd Home, where she had resided for a short time.

She was born May 27, 1877 to Urban and Frances Cachelin, pioneers of DeSoto.

As a young lady she homesteaded with her father in South Dakota and also taught for several years in the Washington County schools. She was post-mistress of the DeSoto post office in the early 1900s. Later she was a clerk at the Omaha Post Office.

When the "Forgot Store," a familiar landmark between Omaha and Ft. Calhoun, was operated by her sister, Mrs. Bowles originated its name.

Most of her married life to Edgar N. Bowles was spent in Omaha. Mr. Bowles died in 1939 and she moved to Ft. Calhoun in 1947 where she resided until she became ill in October 1964 and then lived at the McBride Rest Home until recently.

She was a member of the Covenant Presbyterian Church in Omaha and a member of the Jenny Wade Tent No. 28, Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War.

She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Goldie Marie Miller and Mrs. Ada Daniels, both of Omaha; also four nieces and three nephews. A son, Theodore, passed away in 1947. Also preceding her in death besides her husband and son were three sisters, Nell Nethaway, Elizabeth Cachelin and Maude Badgerow, and a brother Edward Cachelin.

The Sievers Mortuary at Ft. Calhoun was in charge of the service Wednesday afternoon and burial was in the Blair Cemetery. The Rev. Brown of Omaha officiated.

Pallbearers were John Sully, Cecil Stricklett, Rolland Smith, Charles Seltz, Lester Wilt and H.?
