Frank Brooks Succumbs To Attack of Pneumonia

William Franklin Brooks, age seventy-five years, an old-time resident of Blair and Washington County, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. A. R. Beales, on Friday, January 18, 1918, from an attack of pneumonia of the bronchial tubes. Mr. Brooks was born March 3, 1843, at Battle Creek, Mich., and came to Nebraska in 1866, living at Ft. Calhoun for fifteen years. He served as chief of police and night police in Blair through ten different city administrations and was one of the best police officers Blair ever had.

He was married June 14, 1884, to Miss Elizabeth Thompson, and to this union one daughter, Mrs. A. R. Beales, was born. He leaves to mourn his demise his widow, and daughter, and two sisters, Mrs. M. E. Hazlett and Mrs. F. E. Scott, both residing in Lincoln, Nebr.

The funeral was conducted by Rev. A. E. Marsh from the home of Mr. and Mrs. A. R. Beales at 1:30 p.m. on January 20, and the remains were laid to rest in the Blair Cemetery.
