Connie D. Bowland, 50, died June 16, 2002, at Immanuel Medical Center in Omaha following a battle with cancer.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 19, at United Methodist Church in Tekamah. Pastor Harun Gatobu and Pastor Lynette Schaefer of First Episcopal Church of Molokai, Hawaii, will officiate.

Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, June 18, at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair, with the family receiving friends from 5 to 8 pm. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m.

Connie Darlene Bowland was born July 29, 1951, in Blair to Clement and Elsie Brummond of rural Herman. She graduated from Herman High School in 1969.

On Oct. 18, 1980, she married Steve Bowland in Tekamah. The couple lived in Tekamah and Hawaii.

Through the years, Mrs. Bowland worked as an office manager for Dr. Faye Jones, a local chiropractor. She also worked for many years in the office of Agri-Pro Seeds.

She was very active in her church and Bible study groups.

Her interests included spending time with her family and grandchildren, gardening, and digital photography.

She is survived by her husband, Steve; daughters and sons-in-law, Juliet and Jeff Jensen, Kristen and Eric Feiling, and Hayley Bowland, all of Tekamah, Brandi and Bill Cress of Omaha, and a son, Kirby, of Kahuku, Hawaii; five grandchildren; her mother, Elsie Hultquist of Herman; sister, Bev Triplett of Omaha; brother Gary Brummond of Tekamah; sister-in-law, Carol Brummond of Herman; father- and mother-in-law, Leo and Joy Bowland of Tekamah; brother- and sister-in-law, Mike and Janet Bowland of Tekamah; and sister-in-law, Roxy Backer of Omaha.

She was preceded in death by her father, stepfather, two brothers, and an infant sister.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
