MAJ. WHITE'S SISTER IS DEAD

PASSES AWAY ON CHRISTMAS DAY AT SIOUX CITY

Major John P. White received a message last week apprising him of the critical illness of his sister, Mrs. Bradford, at her home in Sioux City, Iowa, and took the first train for that city.

On Christmas morning six of the Knights Templars of Blair, assembled at the lodge room to exchange the usual compliments of the Yuletide season and engage in social intercourse, when it was decided to wire the major a message of sympathy and hope for the recovery of his afflicted sister. On Tuesday morning County Treasurer George Bruse, received a letter from the major, written the previous day, conveying the sad intelligence that his beloved sister had passed away at 7:15 on Christmas day and that the funeral service was held on Sunday; that his brother-in-law, Mr. Bradford, had requested him to remain as company to him in his bereavement, for a time, expressing his gratitude and tendering his thanks to his bretheren who sent him the message of sympathy and regretting that he could not be with them at the New Year's reception which he had assisted in planning and had looked forward to with pleasant anticipation.

He also writes that Mr. Bradford will retain his housekeeper and chauffeur and will continue his home; that he has a widowed and a maiden sister at Detroit, whom he has invited to visit him in the hope that he may be able to persuade them to make their home with him.
