Mrs. Johan Reeh Pioneer, Laid To Rest

The funeral of Mrs. Johan Reeh was held from the German Lutheran Church Monday afternoon and was largely attended by old settlers, relative and friends.

Mr. and Mrs. Reeh pioneers of Washington County, having come from German where they were married fifty-five years ago, and have been residents of Washington County at the old home on the Papio and in Blair for over fifty years. Seven children were born to them, Gus, Pete, Charlie and Will, all of Washington County, Mrs. Lizzie Richter and Mrs. Kate Truhlsen, of Herman, and one son, John, who died several years ago. Twenty-six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren mourn the departed mother.

The aged couple celebrated their golden wedding five years ago.

Rev. Lambrecht had charge of the funeral services and spoke in both English and German. The pallbearers were Nel Truhlsen, John Kuhr, Peter Siert, August Bruse, Frank Jahnel and P. Helwinkel. Burial was in the Blair Cemetery.
