Services held for Bennington traffic victim

Funeral services were held Monday, October 15, at 10:30 a.m. for Lori Jo Braesch. Dr. Norman Schroeder officiated at St. John's Lutheran Church in Bennington.

Organist was Miriam Sukrew. Ken Sukreaw was soloist and sang, "Children of the Heavenly Father." Ken and Miriam sang, "Beautiful Savior." Casket Bearers were Doug Schlotfeld, Dwayne Pruess, Dr. William Weidner, Dan Braesch, Don Laaker and John Rothermund. The Hadan-Golden Mortuary of Bennington was in charge of the arrangements. Interment was held at the Prairie View Cemetery northwest of Washington, Nebraska.

Lori Jo Braesch, daughter of Duane and Helen Braesch, was born June 10, 1965. She was the youngest of five children born to the family.

On September 19, 1965, Lori was baptized into the Christian faith at St. John's Lutheran Church in Bennington. Through her confirmation instruction she grew and confirmed her faith June 15, 1980 at St. John's.

Lori spent her school days in the Bennington Schools. She graduated May 23, 1983. She was active in a host of events, was the 1983 Prom Queen, and class treasurer as a senior.

Lori Jo prepared herself for her life's work by attending the Bahner Beauty School in Fremont, Nebraska. She was to graduate from the Beauty School on Wednesday, October 17. Friday morning, October 12, while on her way to attend school, together with Denise Kruse, her life was tragically taken in an automobile accident. She was 19 years, four months and two days of age.

She leaves to mourn her fiance, Randy King, to whom she was to be married at St. John's on June 15, 1985; her parents, Duane and Helen Braesch; one brother, Dan and wife Marilee; three sisters and their husbands-Jolie and John Rothermund, Jackie and Dr. William Weidner, Vicky and Dwayne Pruess; two nephews Doug and Brad Pruess; one niece Emily Pruss; grandparents-Lora Sass of Bennington, Leonard and Georgena Luschen of Fremont; uncles, aunts , cousins, other relatives and a host of friends.
