Services for Ruth Helen Brainard, 80 who died June 24, 1994 in Fremont were Monday, June 27 at Arlington Community Church. Rev. Lee Milligan officiated. Burial was in Memorial Cemetery at Fremont.

Ruth Helen Hallberg was born May 1, 1914 in Valley to Eric and Signe Hallbert. She attended Valley schools.

She married Joshua Brainard June 5, 1935 in Fremont. They farmed north of Valley on his family' s farm. They retired in 1982 and moved to Fremont.

She was a member of the Arlington Community Church and the Northside Card Club. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Gus Hallberg.

She is survived by her husband, Joshua; two sons, David and Edward, both of Omaha; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Elmer Hallberg of Valley and a sister, Ann (Mrs. Frank) Hansen of Valley.

Pallbearers were Jim Brainard, Jim Hansen, Dale Kappeler, Jeff Kappeler, Rob King and Eugene Volnek.

Reichmuth Funeral Home in Valley handled the arrangements.
