Fred Flake, 74, Succumbs Febr. 22

Mr. Fred Flake, 74, passed away Monday afternoon, Feb. 22, at Memorial Community Hospital, where he had been since Febr. 2nd, following a stroke.

Mr. and Mrs. Flake were married on August 21, 1919, and moved to a farm near Spiker. Mr. Flake was born Feb. 12, 1886, on this farm, and lived there until March of 1945, when he retired and he and his wife moved to Blair. Mrs. Flake died on March 10, 1954.

He is survived by four sisters, Mrs. Ella Nelson of Blair, Mrs. Frank Kruger (Emma) and Mrs. Clara Gosker of Arlington, and Mrs. Louise Bockerman of Arapahoe.

Funeral services will be held at First Lutheran Church at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25th, with the Rev. George Pallesen officiating. Burial will be in Blair Cemetery with the Bendorf Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be: Callie and Ray Hansen, Walter Huber, Al Sick, Henry Rasmussen and Fritz Wolff. Honorary pallbearers: Frederick Peterson, Fred Grabbe, James Ryan, Jens Juul, Frank Hovendick and Mike S. Brondum.
