Services were Tuesday, January 12 at Queen of Apostles Church in Council Bluffs for Douglas K. Bragg, 47 of Council Bluffs who died January 8, 1993 at Midlands Hospital in Papillion, Nebraska after suffering an apparent heart attack during the Council Bluffs Abraham Lincoln-Omaha Bryan basketball game in Omaha. Burial was in Ridgewood Cemetery.

His son, Adam, is a forward on the Lynx squad.

Douglas K. Bragg was born in Blair, Nebraska. He had lived in Blair from 1956-1967 and from 1972-1975. He attended Blair Community Schools where he participated in football, basketball and baseball.

He continued playing softball for the Olson-Stewart softball team throughout his years in Blair.

He had lived in Council Bluffs for 17 years.

He was a teacher in the Council Bluffs School district for the past 20 years, most recently at Franklin School.

He was a member of Queen of Apostles Church, West End Optimists Club, Council Bluffs Education Association, Iowa State Education Association and National Education Association.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann; a daughter, Sarah; his son, Adam; his mother, Maxine, all of Council Bluffs and a brother, Leon of Kenosha, Wisconsin.

Memorials may be given to the Endowment Fund at Queen of Apostles Church.

Cutler Funeral Home Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
